When our own lives hang in the balance there can almost be the notion of relief, 'Oh well, it's only me'; but when it's your own child, everything you ever knew or thought you knew is put on the block. Your place in creation, what anything means, who God is, it all comes to bare. Parts of this episode are not for the faint of heart. There's plenty of warning when to look away. Although (as producer) I often use mild coercion for the sake of the channel none was used here. Quite the opposite.
